Having begun singing when he was in elementary school, Martin John "Lefty Martin" remembers coming home from school each day to his mom playing classic country, B.B. King, The Ink Spots, and even some surf music such as "Wipeout" by The Safaries. She loved singing and sounded a lot like the great Patsy Cline, and could sing a mean version of "Crazy". With that influence and the love and support of family and friends, it was inevitable that "Lefty" would spend a good part of his life in the field of music as a vocalist and entertainer.
Entering the musical group scene later in life, Lefty began singing in ensemble groups in 2008 (Rhapsody Singers & Sounds Divine). He played with a local Country cover band called the Silver Spurs for a short while as their Lead Singer in 2014, and eventually the manager from the Rhapsody Singers, Barbara Patterson, introduced him to Ted Matzen, lead guitarist of the Ghostriders, with whom he has played with since 2017. During COVID he was part of a startup project as the Lead Singer for another local startup band and after about 2 years formed his own band, "Lefty Martin & His Right Hand Band".
